“Through The Darkness”
My original oil painting “Through The Darkness” began as a study painting to explore new techniques quickly became one of my favorite pieces. Before starting, I came across a passage in my Rumi oracle deck featuring the quote used in this work — Da Tariki Tariqat, which translates to “Through the darkness, there is a path” in Arabic. I was immediately drawn to it and knew it needed to be part of a painting.
While I did not use myself as the model, the composition was inspired by my own stomach and chest tattoos, adding a personal layer to the imagery and connecting the piece to my own journey.
